Aluminum carbon brick production


Aluminum carbon bricks are graphite based alumina refractory materials. It is increasingly used for continuous casting and secondary steel purification. Adding flake graphite can improve the corrosion resistance and thermal shock resistance of alumina, and aid in heat transfer. Graphite can also make refractory materials non wetting and improve strength.
Aluminum carbon bricks are used to control and protect the metal flowing from the ladle to the water-cooled mold. When metal flows from the ladle to the sprue plate, the aluminum oxide graphitized by isostatic pressure will protect the metal. The feeding nozzle sleeve made of aluminum carbon bricks can also prevent metal oxidation.
The main raw materials for producing aluminum carbon bricks include alumina, flake graphite (with a carbon content requirement of over 85%), silica, and resin binder. The production process of aluminum carbon bricks is basically the same as that of magnesium carbon bricks, from raw material processing, batching, forming to firing.
