According to different blast furnace types and material design requirements, carbon ramming materials are mainly used for the gaps between the carbon bricks at the bottom of the blast furnace and the sealing plate at the bottom of the furnace, as well as the gaps between the carbon bricks in the furnace and the cooling wall, as well as the leveling and filling of the cooling wall above the centerline of the water cooling pipe at the bottom of the furnace. All parts require that the carbon ramming materials after ramming have a certain strength and density, filling every corner and very small gap, To meet the requirements of no leakage of molten iron and gas, and the thermal conductivity of carbon ramming material should be basically consistent with the performance of hot carbon bricks and cooling walls in the blast furnace, so as not to affect the service life of the blast furnace and maintain normal production.
The common problem encountered in the use of carbon ramming materials at present is that the thermal conductivity of carbon ramming materials is generally low, which is not conducive to the rapid cooling of the blast furnace body and thus affects its service life. Therefore, the updated research and application of high thermal conductivity carbon ramming materials have great market prospects. Whether it is adding additives to carbon ramming materials, changing the properties of the materials through in-situ reactions at high temperatures, or changing the local material usage structure from a design perspective, so that the carbon ramming material layer reaches a thermal conductivity coefficient that matches the carbon brick and cooling wall when the working temperature rises, to ensure normal heat conduction and not damage its overall construction structure, thereby meeting the requirements of improving the blast furnace life.
