The sliding water outlet device is composed of upper and lower sliding plates made of refractory materials and a mechanical drive structure, installed on the outer edge of the bottom of the ladle. The upper skateboard is fixed, while the lower skateboard is movable. According to the way skateboarding moves, it can be divided into three categories: 1) linear reciprocating; 2) Linear propulsion type; 3] Rotary. By driving the pull rod, the sliding plate slides back and forth in a straight line. When the casting holes on the upper and lower sliding plate bricks are staggered, the drainage sand is filled into the upper water outlet hole, and the steel can be loaded into the ladle; When the casting holes overlap, the drainage sand automatically flows out and can be poured, and the pouring speed can be controlled by the degree of partial overlap of the casting holes.

1、 Skateboard

The skateboard is a key component that determines the function of the sliding water outlet, playing a role in controlling and regulating the flow rate of molten steel. Due to repeated contact with high-temperature molten steel (especially in the casting hole area), the skateboard suffers from severe corrosion and harsh usage conditions. The skateboard is required to have good properties such as high strength, corrosion resistance, and resistance to peeling. During the pouring process, it must be ensured that there is no leakage of molten steel between the skateboards. The skateboard must have the following properties:

(1) Sliding surface flatness ≤ 0.05mm;

(2) High mechanical strength;

(3) Strong corrosion resistance to molten steel and slag;

(4) Excellent antioxidant performance;

(5) Good thermal shock stability.

The sealing protection of the sliding water outlet of the ladle is mainly at the connection between the upper water outlet and the upper sliding plate, and the lower sliding plate and the lower water outlet. During the pouring process, generally after pouring one or two batches of molten steel, the lower sliding plate and lower water outlet must be replaced and reassembled. The sealing protection adopts a sealing gasket made of fiber or clay to ensure the high cleanliness of the molten steel and the uniformity of the internal quality of the casting billet.

2、 Burn into skateboards

In the firing of aluminum carbon skateboards, not only does the organic binder carbonize and coke during firing, forming carbon bonds in the bricks, but also additives such as metallic silicon can react with carbon to form SiC during reduction firing at<1300 ℃, and form ceramic bonds inside the bricks.

So, there is a dual bonding system of ceramic bonding and carbon bonding in the fired aluminum carbon skateboard. It significantly improves the strength of the skateboard, and even after the carbon is burned out during use, it can maintain sufficient residual strength due to its ceramic bonding system.

After the skateboard is burned, it usually needs to be soaked in oil. Vertical or horizontal vacuum pressurized oil immersion devices are generally used in oil immersion. After preheating the skateboard, put it into an oil immersion tank and vacuum it to a vacuum degree of 650mmHg or above. Introduce heated tar or asphalt and pressurize the oil to a pressure of 8-16kgf/cm2 or higher, so that the tar or asphalt is sucked into the open pores of the skateboard. The casting holes in the skateboard can be made at the time of molding, or they can be formed into integral plates without holes first, and then drilled later. Most people believe that drilling holes is beneficial for improving the quality of skateboards.

In addition, using thin iron sheets to wrap and clamp around the skateboard is considered an important measure to ensure the safe use of the skateboard. It can prevent the skateboard from breaking during use, and because this metal clamp is tightly wrapped, it has the effect of limiting the propagation of cracks in the material, especially the opening of cracks.

3、 High performance skateboard

It is a non burning aluminum carbon skateboard with a relatively simple process, low cost, and good usage effect. The ingredients of this type of skateboard are similar to those of fired skateboards, using raw materials such as board corundum, mullite, corundum, flake graphite, silicon carbide, and silicon powder, and adding phenolic resin as a binder. After mixing, forming, heat treatment, and mechanical processing, the finished product is obtained. Compared to fired aluminum carbon skateboards, non fired skateboards do not require firing, oil immersion, and dry distillation heat treatment in manufacturing, simplifying the production process. However, their strength is relatively low and their porosity is slightly higher. Practice has proven that non burned skateboards have good performance on steel ladles in medium-sized converters and electric furnaces, and some even surpass burnt oil immersed skateboards.
